“The girls in our education program are doing very well. These are the ones who have been given the opportunity to further their studies starting at age 14, instead of being sent down to work in Pattaya as sex workers by their parents. This is common practice in Thailand when girls turn 14. We had a time of ministry with these young ladies and told them that they are leading a path for many girls to follow, and to not give up on their dreams. We told them that many people in America are praying & cheering them on to succeed. There were tears in some of their eyes. We know without a doubt this is one of the most significant things we are doing to shift the region, and we are grateful to the many people who are helping us make this happen.

We have also done outreaches to children in the villages of Pak Chong, an identified region that’s funneling teens & women into Thailand’s sex trade. Over 50% of the children shared that they have a mother, sister or aunt currently working in Pattaya - which is Thailand’s notorious sex tourism destination. We shared the seriousness of what that entails, and we are working to connect these children with the education program. Many of these children also received salvation after we preached the gospel. The subject of prostitution and the sex industry in Thailand is not generally brought up as women in prostitution is a class in society that the churches in Thailand have stayed away from. We are bringing justice and awareness in this area through outreaches to the villages and enrolling young girls in education and ensuring they are trained in a trade so they can get suitable employment.”
